William Stebbins, MD

William Stebbins, MD, joined Franklin Dermatology Group in 2022. He is originally from Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Stebbins graduated magna cum laude from Williams College with a B.A. in Economics. He is a board-certified dermatologist and board-certified/fellowship-trained Mohs/dermatologic surgeon. His areas of expertise include the comprehensive treatment of skin cancer, Mohs micrographic surgery, advanced surgical reconstruction, as well as cosmetic dermatology procedures. He has performed over 12,000 Mohs surgeries. Above all, Dr. Stebbins enjoys providing thoughtful, patient-centered care to ensure patients have the best possible surgical and cosmetic outcomes.

From 2010-2022, Dr. Stebbins served as an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. During that time, he was a full-time Mohs surgeon, the Associate Director of the Mohs Surgery Fellowship, and the Director of Cosmetic Dermatology. He has been the recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award for the Department of Dermatology multiple times during his tenure.

The top graduate in his class at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, Dr. Stebbins completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and graduated from the Dermatology Residency at Harvard Medical School. He then completed a Mohs Surgery and Procedural Dermatology Fellowship at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana with Dr. C. William Hanke.

Dr. Stebbins has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters related to surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He continues to lecture about surgical and cosmetic dermatology at national and international dermatology conferences.

Dr. Stebbins is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), and is a member of the Tennessee Dermatology Society.

Dr. Stebbins resides in Nashville with his wife Jenn (also a dermatologist), and their dog Poppy. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, listening to live music, and spending time with his family and friends.
