Patient Information Center

Office Policies

Our trained staff is available to talk with you and address your concerns about insurance, appointments, directions, clinic hours, procedures, wound care, treatment instructions, and more. Please note the following policies:

Insurances

We accept most medical insurances, but not all. We highly recommend that you confirm your coverage prior to your appointment.

Your Responsibilities

You will be asked to accept responsibility for payment for insurance-uncovered services and deductibles. All co-pays are required at the time of the office visit. More helpful info: List of charges disclaimer—CPT codes.

Appointments

Appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. We strive to work with your schedule as much as possible. Please arrive a few minutes early for your appointment. If you arrive late for an appointment, please understand that you may be asked to wait until on-time patients are ahead of you.

Injectables

All injectables require payment in full at the time of service. Some injectables may also require a non-refundable deposit.

Prescription Refills

Please call your pharmacy first — this is the fastest and most efficient way to get your medication refilled. The pharmacy will send us an electronic refill request directly.

Refills are handled during normal business hours only — we do not process refill requests on holidays, weekends, or after hours.

If you have not been seen in our office within the past year, you will need to schedule an appointment before a refill can be authorized.

We understand it can be inconvenient to come in, especially if you’ve been on the same medication for a long time. However, to ensure the prescription is still appropriate, effective, and not causing side effects, a brief visit may be necessary. Competent patient care is our top priority.

For more context, we encourage you to read:
“Why your doctor won’t refill prescriptions over the phone.”

Emergencies

Any time you feel you could have an emergency, you should call 911. If you have an emergency involving treatment by Franklin Dermatology Group or The Aesthetic Center, call us during normal business hours at (615) 771-1881. After hours of weekends, go to a nearby medical facility or emergency room and they will contact us. If you believe you have an emergency involving the skin and have not been to Franklin Dermatology Group or The Aesthetic Center for that problem (for example, a burn), you should go to the nearest medical facility or emergency room. They will contact us if we are needed.

Tardy Accounts

We very much prefer to avoid collection agency procedures. So we ask that you not ignore our payment-due notifications, and please call and ask about alternative payment arrangements in times of adverse situations.
